Merry Christmas! a bundle of Joy!

Merry Christmas from the Clifton family at Bear Mountain! We are grateful for all of our guests that have stayed over the years and humbled by God’s blessings on us and this property and we hope you are blessed here as well. We hope to see you in 2025!

This year God blessed us with another bear cub, Evan Clifton! we are overwhelmed with joy and he and his big brothers, Asher and Liam are all keeping us on our toes, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Merry Christmas!

We have delicious roasted Coffee!

Alot has happened in the last month. We purchased a commercial roaster and installed her (the former owner named her Sheila) and have roasted a few batches with Sheila now, so we have coffee!

Currently we have a Brazil Eagle Mogiana bean – roasted in Light, medium or dark profiles. Taste Notes are: Chocolate, Honey, almond, Dried fruits.

We start stocking the cabins with the coffee this next week and offering it for sale. Available for purchase, shipping included at www.bearmountaincoffeeco.com

Coffee

You might have noticed the signs in front of the stable saying Bear Mountain Coffee Company, coming soon. This last year, we’ve been roasting samples and getting feedback to help us understand what to serve. We get asked when are you opening?, well it is coming soon, hopefully spring 23′.

Chris is working on the build out of the coffee trailer for the drive through but of course our lodging operations come first so there is only so much time for things but it’s coming soon and we’re very excited to start mass roasting our own coffee and serving delicious coffee drinks for our area, as well as stocking our cabins with our own coffee.

Thank you for your patience.

Pivot

If you’ve followed us any you know we’ve moved a couple of times, well what’s one more time? Melissa might be getting a little tired of all the moving, especially with a new baby, Baby Asher arrived back in July, he’s a bundle of energy and an amazing blessing in all of our lives.

Part of our planning involved evolving the stable into a wedding venue/event center but after almost two years of working on it and marketing it we decided to pivot away from that. We looked at the results and the local market and it was not the optimal way to use the properties to maximize revenue for the business.

So we packed up and moved into what was the bridal suite and banquet room and have adapted it into a comfortable barndominium for us. We started renting out the house, we now call it the White river mountain manor, it is listed and is perfect for families and groups.

Lodge and Eagle Crest update

The lodge is now listed online to rent on our website and on vrbo and airbnb, and we just had our first guests this last weekend, remember if you book direct you save money. The lodge sits on the front of the property and US highway 62 it is a 3 bedroom log home, with 1.5 bath, it doesn’t have a jacuzzi bath but we put a hottub on the back deck, there is a full kitchen, dining area and living room with wood stove. The lodge is an adults only rental. We loved living in the lodge and think you’ll enjoy it too, we have introductory rates loaded that are a little lower for now so take advantage.

Eagle Crest is our newest cabin and we think it is one of the most spectacular, it is located on county road 206, 1 mile directly behind the Bear Mountain property, there isn’t much traffic so it’s peaceful and private. Chris is currently doing some remodeling to the cabin and anticipates it being listed to rent in March, stay tuned! Eagle Crest cabin sits next to the White river mountain manor but still feels private, there is about 100 yards separating the two and it’s on the garage side of the house so you don’t see each other from outside living spaces. The cabin is on top of the mountain at the highest point in Wolf Ridge overlooking the White river, it’s a gorgeous view and you just might get a glimpse of a bald eagle, they live and fish on the white river.

Eagle Crest is a 2 story one bedroom, cabin, it has a spiral staircase (so be aware if stairs are difficult for you). You enter on the upper floor to the kitchen and living area, it has a full kitchen and wood stove, the view from your dining area window is of the woods and white river, the upper back deck has a 2 person hottub that overlooks the white river valley with a picturesque view. Downstairs is a bathroom with shower and bedroom with a king size bed. Pictures and listing coming soon.
