Lodge and Eagle Crest update

The lodge is now listed online to rent on our website and on vrbo and airbnb, and we just had our first guests this last weekend, remember if you book direct you save money. The lodge sits on the front of the property and US highway 62 it is a 3 bedroom log home, with 1.5 bath, it doesn’t have a jacuzzi bath but we put a hottub on the back deck, there is a full kitchen, dining area and living room with wood stove. The lodge is an adults only rental. We loved living in the lodge and think you’ll enjoy it too, we have introductory rates loaded that are a little lower for now so take advantage.

Eagle Crest is our newest cabin and we think it is one of the most spectacular, it is located on county road 206, 1 mile directly behind the Bear Mountain property, there isn’t much traffic so it’s peaceful and private. Chris is currently doing some remodeling to the cabin and anticipates it being listed to rent in March, stay tuned! Eagle Crest cabin sits next to the White river mountain manor but still feels private, there is about 100 yards separating the two and it’s on the garage side of the house so you don’t see each other from outside living spaces. The cabin is on top of the mountain at the highest point in Wolf Ridge overlooking the White river, it’s a gorgeous view and you just might get a glimpse of a bald eagle, they live and fish on the white river.

Eagle Crest is a 2 story one bedroom, cabin, it has a spiral staircase (so be aware if stairs are difficult for you). You enter on the upper floor to the kitchen and living area, it has a full kitchen and wood stove, the view from your dining area window is of the woods and white river, the upper back deck has a 2 person hottub that overlooks the white river valley with a picturesque view. Downstairs is a bathroom with shower and bedroom with a king size bed. Pictures and listing coming soon.

2022 Check in and out times changed

For 2022 we are changing our check in time to 4pm or after and our check out time to by 10 am. We needed to make this change, since we’ve added more cabins, to make sure we have enough time to get cabins ready from check out to the next check in. We will do our best to allow early check ins or late check outs when we can. Thank you for your understanding.

Chris

New blessings

We’ve recently been blessed to purchase a house and another cabin that both have views of the White River and are back behind the Bear Mountain Property on County Road 206. We have decided to live in the house and the new cabin and Lodge will be added to the Bear Mountain rental inventory.

We have lived in the lodge for the last 6 months and finished up remodeling it, I just added a new rear deck and a 4 person hot tub to it since it does not have a jacuzzi tub. The lodge is the oldest cabin and is a 3 bedroom, it will be adult only due to the hot tub liability.

The new cabin will be called Eagle Crest (and yes there are bald eagles to see) and is one mile behind Bear Mountain directly on county road 206. It is a 800 sq ft one bedroom, two story and has an incredible mountain view of the white river. I’m sure it will be a favorite like the Chalet is. I anticipate it being available in early 2022, we have some remodeling we want to do it first. There will be a 2 person hot tub on the deck overlooking the river 🙂

We look forward to sharing this new blessing in 2022!

Hideaway: ready to rent

The Hideaway is a large luxury studio apartment located behind the Lodge and Luxury log cabin, it’s attached to the front of the Shop. We lived in this apartment for the first year. We have been adding a Jacuzzi/shower combo and a privacy fence in front of the porch. Melissa is decorating it Jesse James/outlaw style. The Hideaway has a full kitchen, with stainless appliances, living/dining area and a new King size memory foam bed. Also a private and partially enclosed and screened porch is on the front and facing woods, like all units it has a weber charcoal grill.

The Hideaway is available to book at $129/nt, with a 2 night minimum

The couples that have stayed in it so far have loved it.

Lodge-change of plans

So the original plan was to remodel the lodge and rent it out. We have decided to move into it. We have moved out of the apartment in the shop and into the lodge. The Lodge and Luxury are attached to each other but there is a empty room between them that we have sealed off and insulated to sound proof.

We are going to turn the apartment at the front of the shop, that we’ve lived in the last year, into a rental. It will be called the Hideaway, we are installing a jacuzzi tub and then it will be ready to rent, hopefully by mid April.

The Presidential

The Presidential is now open for business, we have rented it several times already. The presidential is built into one side of Stable. It has two master bedrooms (1 king and 2 queens) both with their own master baths with Jacuzzis and showers, full kitchen, dining table and living area with infrared fireplace. The deck has some incredible sunset mountain vista views and has patio furniture and a weber charcoal grill. It sleeps 6 very comfortably. Try it out we know you’ll like it.

Summer look back

We had a fantastic summer, not only was the weather great, fairly cool for our area, business was booming as well. We were very blessed to be full all summer and starting off full in the fall too, we thank God for all the blessings he’s bestowed on us.

With Summer being very busy we weren’t able to get much work done on the lodge, the luxury has been rented almost continuously, I did redo the tile floor and wall area where the wood stove goes and a little more flooring work done but that’s about it.

The Cozy got a new red metal roof and it turned out pretty good, makes the cabin pop and looks much better. I also put a new shingle roof on the red studio, which will be a future housekeeping storage/laundry area for our housekeeping ops. The Chalet has new appliances now too so the 3 cabins with full kitchens have new appliances now.

Most of our time this summer was spent with general upkeep, housekeeping, mowing, etc, this winter we’re hoping to get the lodge completed and some more updates on the Cozy and Loft.

Fall leaves are almost at peak color right now, it’s beautiful here, if you haven’t had the chance to take in the Eureka area in the fall I hope you can next year. We thank all of our guests for staying with us and helping us to continue to improve Bear Mountain.

Thank you from the Cliftons.

May Update

The beginning of May we were able to open back up from the covid shutdown, we are very thankful. May ended up being a fairly busy month and June is very full. We aren’t as able to get as much remodeling work done with the cabins rented but what a great problem, we obviously need the revenue.

We are still remodeling the Lodge, I spent a lot of time leveling the main floor, it’s the oldest log cabin home here and needs a lot of work. The upstairs is painted and now I’m starting to lay flooring upstairs. I’m not able to do any work that makes much noise since it’s next door with the Luxury and the Luxury is rented all the time.

We have upgraded the appliances in the Cozy and Lodge to black refrigerators and stoves, they look very nice. We’ve updated the cozy with a leather sleeper sofa and new table in the kitchen for two. Little by little the place is starting to look pretty good.
